This Is How Your Car Steering Works

This Is How Your Car Steering Works
In today’s automobiles, usually two types of steering types are prevalent:
1) Rack and pinion:
Rack-and-pinion steering one of the most prevalent steering system used on cars and small trucks.

Here’s how it works:
A rack-and-pinion gear set is usually covered by a metal tube, with the rack sticking out from the tube at each end. A tie rod or axial rod is used to connect each end of the rack.
Below is the diagram of the configuration of Rack and Pinion:

The pinion gear is attached to the steering shaft. When the steering wheel is turned, the gear spins, moving the rack. The tie rod at each end of the rack connects to the steering arm which is attached to the spindle.
This type of gearing mechanism as two main purposes:
1) It converts steering wheel’s circular motion into linear motion.
2) It causes a gear reduction, making it easier to turn the wheels.

Don’t you hate when you run out of your smartphone battery at the most critical moments? Traditionally, the smartphones battery life leaves a lot to be desired. While you may blame the excessive number of apps running in the background for fast battery drain, the problem might actually be lying elsewhere.
A scientific study has revealed that the short battery life can be blamed on the way we charge our smartphones. Here’s how you should charge your phone. Because science!

Unplug the Smartphone once it is 100% chargedLeaving the smartphone plugged in, as we tend to do overnight, is the worst thing you could do to your smartphone battery.
Once the battery of your smartphone is completely charged, the trickle charge flow begins to maintain the 100% charging. Thus, the battery endures a high-stress, high-tension state that may damage it. Think of it as exercising for hours on end, without stopping. You can imagine the stress that your muscles will feel. The same goes for the battery of your …

This Is How Engine Braking Works In Diesel And Gasoline Cars
bigvee  July, 9th 2016
Most of you engineers are probably familiar with the term of engine braking or will nod your heads once we tell you because we know the phenomenon but don’t know the actual word for it. Now engine braking is regarding the power of the engine to create a braking effect on the vehicle. So, now you get what we are talking about here? But, many people have the misunderstanding that engine braking is only done in big lousy diesel engine cars where rotational brakes cannot be applied. Since the braking force needed is too much, we rely more on engine braking rather than wheel braking. But, it isn’t a mechanism limited to Diesel engines. There is also a method of engine braking used in gasoline cars. Here is an in-depth explanation of all kinds of engine brakes available in automobiles:

I hope you enjoyed this in-depth discussion about the innovative way of stopping vehicles. It is interesting to see how the gas…

Now Japanese are known for their amazing and sometimes crazy creativity in advertisements so here is what the Earth Chemical guys came up with in their latest ad stunt.

So basically no human being was able to cross the obstacles onto the other end. So, this giant trap is very effective to deal with smart roaches and insects that seem to wriggle out of every tight corner and lay a million more eggs in a day or two. The company…
